General PCB board substrate materials can be divided into two categories: rigid substrate materials and flexible substrate materials. The most common rigid substrate materials are copper clad laminates. Specific materials are the following four: resin, glass fiber cloth, FR-4, and aluminum substrate.
Resin
Epoxy resin as PCB board commonly used materials, thermal curing can produce polymer polymerization reaction. At the same time, the resin has excellent electrical insulation properties and can be used as an adhesive between copper foil and glass fiber cloth. The main characteristics are heat resistance, chemical resistance, water resistance and electrical resistance.
glass fiber cloth
Glass fiber cloth is used as PCB board material, and the inorganic matter in it can be cooled after melting at high temperature to produce non-crystalline objects, and then use the weft and longitude to form a reinforcing material with strong reliability. E-glass fiber cloth more commonly used specifications are: 106, 1080, 3313, 2116, 7628.
FR-4
FR-4 is a heat-resistant material grade, which refers to the material specification that the resin material must be extinguished by itself after being burned. At present, there are many types of FR-4 grade materials used in circuit boards, most of which are called 4-function (Tera-FuncTIon) epoxy resin and filler (Filler) and glass fiber composite materials.
Aluminum substrate
The main component of the aluminum substrate is aluminum, which is composed of copper skin, insulating layer and aluminum sheet. The aluminum substrate has a good heat dissipation function, so it is now the most widely used in the LED lighting industry.
